’Tis the season for giving, and we’re hoping to make a big impact for local kids in need! MTI Events is hosting a Holiday Toy Drive for the children at Sherwood Center…and we need your help! If you’re looking for a way to give back this holiday season, this is your chance.
Sherwood Center Holiday Toy Drive
Sherwood Center is a non-profit organization for children and adults with autism and related developmental disabilities that currently supports 67 students (12 females and 55 males). 85% of Sherwood Center’s families live in poverty. Most of the children who attend the center won’t have presents at home to open on Christmas. Your donation will make the holidays special for a child in need and bring much-needed support to struggling families.
Last year we found out that Sherwood Center had lost a huge supporter of theirs during the Christmas time. When we heard that they now had this hole that they were trying to fill during the holiday season we decided to host a Toy Drive on their behalf. And thus a wonderful new tradition was born.
How You Can Help
If you’d like to help, please consider donating a new toy or money between now and December 9th. The MTI Events office will then go over to Sherwood Center and deliver all the toys! Here’s a list of appropriate gifts:
- Action figures (especially ones that make noise and move)
- Play-doh
- Books with CDs
- Leap Pad games
- Stuffed animals
- Legos
- Hand-held video games/computer tablets
- Headphones
- Remote control toys/cars
- Rubber balls
- Art supplies
- Puzzles
- Mp3 players
- Bean bag chairs
- Musical instruments/toys
Last year we had so many people donate gifts it took us two whole days to wrap everything! We are hoping to have an even bigger impact this year! Will help you help us make the holidays bright for kids and adults in need?
Drop off your donation at the MTI Events office located at 10400 W. 103rd St. Suite 10, Overland Park, KS 66214 anytime between 9 am-4 pm, Monday-Friday. The deadline is Friday, Dec. 9! Please contact us with any questions. Thank you for your support!
